Our country is famous globally for its beautiful landscapes and its unique places, a fact that is constantly asserted by the increased traffic of tourists. Apart from being one of the most popular touristic destinations worldwide, Greece has regularly been an attraction over the years for many filming shootings, famous or less famous foreign productions. Out of these numerous productions, we’ve singled out those that took place in the unique island of Santorini:

• “Lara Croft Tomb Raider, the Cradle of Life”, 2001. The astonishing Angelina Jolie incarnated for the second time the famous archaeologist and explorer Lara Croft in this film adaptation, working “miracles” for the touristic area of the island.
• “The sisterhood of the traveling pants”, 2005. Another film shot in Santorini that succeeded in young audiences abroad. Alexis Bledel, Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrera, impersonate four best friends and amuse us with their youthful adventures. Due to the successfulness of the first film, a sequel was released in 2008.
• “Summer lovers”, 1982. Starring Peter Gallagher, one of the greatest film idols of the era and the beautiful Daryl Hannah and Valerie Quennessen, Santorini turned into the ultimate summer destination worldwide.
• “Bang Bang!”, 2014. While not the only Bollywood film that was shot in Greece, the “Bang Bang!” movie is not only the most recent one, but the one with the most successful box office as well. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. The song «Meherbaan», popular in India, was filmed in Santorini, causing the island to become a particularly popular travelling destination for the Indian population.
